Whether you as the groom want to get involved 50% or 100%
with the details of your wedding, there are a few things you MUST do :
1. Pick the Bling. The mere fact that you have
taken the time to think about the type of ring your sweetheart would like –
automatically scores you brownie points.
If she hasn’t already dropped hints on the style, shape, and type of
band she wants – then have a chat with her best friend, sister or mother. Not only will they guide you in the right
direction, but you score points with them too for making an effort !
2. Creative Proposal. You can’t just get down on
one knee and pop the question. Nowadays,
grooms are getting more and more creative with the actual proposal. We had one groom who sent a few serenaders
below the brides’ apartment and wooed her in true Romeo & Juliet
style. It’s all about the mood,
ambiance, and location – after all this is one story she’s going to be
discussing for a long time !
3. Groom Up. That’s right – it’s time
for you to hit the gym, get in shape, and look fantastic next to your gushingly
gorgeous bride on your big day ! It’s
not uncommon for spas to offer ‘grooming packages for grooms’ which include
facials, manicures, pedicures, massages and manscaping too !
4. Get Into The Finer Details
of the Wedding.
Both of you are getting married – so any inputs you have pertaining to
the venue, the décor and entertainment should be shared with your future
Mrs. Not only will she thank you for
easing the pressure on her; but she’ll also know that you are just as keen to
tie the knot as she is. We’ve seen quite
a few grooms really get into the finer details and it’s always a pleasant
surprise to see how things turn out.
Here’s where your wedding planner comes in – they are there to assist
and negotiate with vendors as well as taking on your stress so that you end up
as a guest at your own wedding !
5. It’s Your Honeymoon Too. Guys, as much you want to let
your Mrs handle this – it’s something both of you need to plan together. Round up your mates who've already been on
their honeymoons; figure out what you want to do whilst taking into
consideration what your Mrs likes (and doesn't like) and shortlist a few
destinations. Believe you me, she’ll be
thrilled with your input and may surprise you with a few tricks during the
course of the honeymoon. If you friends aren't helping – then ask your wedding planner ‘cos he/she will definitely be
able to sort you out !
Hope this helps all you grooms-to-be to plan a great wedding…..
Let’s toast to fun times and togetherness while planning the wedding ..
Cheers !
